Description
A dill pickle tuna salad that comes together in 3 ingredients with no chopping required. Pile it into a crispy air fryer tuna melt or eat it straight from the bowl.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Dill Pickle Tuna Salad:
- 2 cans Wild Planet Dill Pickle Skipjack Tuna
- 3 tablespoons Seapoint Farms Fire Roasted Edamame, Dill Pickle, crushed
- 3-4 tablespoons mayonnaise
For the Air Fryer Tuna Melt:
- 4 slices bread (brioche, sourdough, or white)
- 2 teaspoons mayonnaise (for outside of bread)
- 4-5 slices cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)
Instructions
- Make the tuna salad. Crush edamame into rough pieces. Combine with drained tuna and mayo. Stir and taste. Add more mayo if you like it creamier.
- Toast the bread. Spread a very thin layer of mayo on one side of each bread slice. Place mayo-side up in the air fryer at 400°F for 3 minutes until golden on top.
- Melt the cheese. Flip bread slices. Top each with cheese. Air fry 60 seconds until melted and bubbly.
- Assemble. Pile tuna salad onto one slice of cheesy bread. Close with second slice. Slice and eat immediately.
Notes
- The mayo on the outside of the bread is what gives you that golden, panini-press crunch. You need way less than you think...a very thin, even layer all the way to the edges.
- Any good melting cheese works for your tuna melt. This tuna salad is also great on crackers, in lettuce wraps, or on its own
